Agua de Rosas presents its second various artists compilation, a secret meeting point where voices from Chicago converge with artists from across the United States and Latin America.

Woven from past collaborations and new connections, the release reveals the label’s expanding pulse.

At its core, percussion pulses: club rhythms intertwine, Latin club, latincore, and other currents shaping a sonic landscape across a wide range of tempos. Each strike traces the rhythm of a shared terrain.

Sixteen tracks from Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Tijuana, Bogotá, Quito, Santiago, and São Paulo.

Compilation Highlights:

Kema, a Minneapolis-based producer, delivers one of the most emotionally arresting tracks on the release. Rooted in club and dancehall, heavy with bass and feeling, it pairs soaring synths with hypnotic vocal textures to striking effect.

Sietecatorce, a pioneer of tribal and experimental electronic dance music and one of the most distinctive voices in the Latin underground, contributes a tribal track that is among the most anticipated on the record. An honor to have him here.

M1LOT1C, a Tijuana-based producer, closes the compilation with Sunrise Rave Love Letter. Beautiful, rave-rooted, and quietly devastating.

Aya Ibeji, hailing from São Paulo, packs a punch with this bouncy club banger. Driven by percussion and bassline, this playful high energy groove awakens the night.

About the Cover Art

The Agua de Rosas crew loves the esoteric and arcane. For Compilation II’s cover art, we once again turned to Latin American folklore, a never-ending inspiration for us. This time, we felt compelled by Luz Mala, the ominous ghost light that floats through Las Pampas in Argentina.

We liked the idea of a misty, mysterious landscape with a single light. Luz Mala is said to be a disturbed soul, who hovers low over water or through the brush. In other variations, it can be a signifier for lost treasure. This duality of dark and light felt right for the mood of this compilation. Darkness is not always silent and still. It can be lively and full of color.

To bring this concept to life, Gabriela Riveros, ADR resident (DJ Aguara’i), painted a scenic of a pond in gouache, then scanned it into the computer and finished painting it digitally to give it that romantic, hazy effect.
