Trueque is a percussive conversation between Midwest club and Latin diasporic rhythm.
Midwest producers Kema & Moreit present Trueque, a four-track release featuring three originals and a remix by Barcelona-based Venezuelan artist Phran. Written between Iowa City, Minneapolis, and Chicago, the release moves through fast tempos and percussive frameworks. “XXXL” hits at 165BPM, driven by a vocal sample and a heavy swing shaped by Kema’s touch. “Maravilla” and “Sacude” lock into Moreit’s raptor house and hardgroove-driven momentum, keeping the pressure tight and the flow locked in. Phran, Barcelona-based, Venezuelan producer and DJ, flips “Sacude” into a tighter, groovier burner, locking the rhythm with extra percussion and weight in the low end. Kema and Moreit channel their worlds into a focused statement built for the dancefloor.
Moreit is a DJ and producer from Caracas, Venezuela who resides in the Midwest. Through the blending of sounds of Raptor House with those of all the varied strains of techno, Moreit delivers distinctive grooves for the dancefloor.
Kema is an independent producer and DJ known for crafting immersive electronic soundscapes that blend elements of ambient, experimental, and global dance music. Kema has been able to carve his own path with his sound as a forefront in a techno-oriented scene, and pushing its boundaries beyond the status-quo.
